September 25: Happy Daughter’s Day

I have one daughter and she is everything to me. She lives, she laughs and she loves. I never envisioned myself being capable in assisting in the creation of a female, considering my family is majority men than women. Yesterday,

National Daughter’s Day

Friday, September 25, 2020, was the first time I heard about National Daughter’s Day. I knew many days to celebrate exist, such as National Ice-cream Day, but didn’t know about this one. I suppose they make a day for just about anything, however, I am really passionate about being a parent of an amazing daughter and wanted to speak on mine.

This day filled my social media feed with mothers sharing their love for their daughter’s and reasons of being blessed to be the parent to someone so wonderful. I too did the same and received reactions to my photo. The idea of the national holiday is great and I am glad I got to participate and share the reasons why I love my baby girl.

Reasons This Dad Loves His Daughter

There is no task I’d rather do more than being a parent. Honestly, if I were to write a list, I could fill pages why I love being a dad–and why I love being a father. Being a father to a daughter makes life more analytically meaningful. For the obvious, I’m over-protective and as the father of an adolescent, I’m more protective and proactively engaged in our surroundings.

My daughter is one of a handful of people who can make me laugh and upset at the same time. I wouldn’t want this any other way. We make each other laugh, we keep each other active, we play, we do a lot together. We share a really strong bond that not even gorilla glue’s product could remove. My daughter is the reason I breathe and the reason I motivate myself to finish my degree and to work harder in life. My daughter is the reason I am a change person and I am blessed for her arrival on this planet alongside the journey with me.

To my daughter, I love you. Happy National Daughter’s Day.

P.S. Social media celebrated National Daughter’s Day Friday, September 25, 2020, but according to Google, it is celebrated the 4th Sunday of September.
