Poetry by Lucas Turner-Harris
Pain in my eyes.
Pain you’ll never see.
What is life without pain?
Without misery?
Yet I stay strong.
Yet I am courageous.
I keep moving along,
Like a book flipping pages.
Pain in my heart.
Pains me to speak it.
Pains me to say it.
Pains me to think it.
Hurt is overflowing.
Hurt is hidden deep.
What you fail to realize,
Is I don’t care what you think.
Pain behind my eyes.
Pain beneath my feet.
I keep my eyes covered,
Don’t wake me if asleep.
Yet I remain humble.
Yet I remain strong.
Please don’t pop my bubble,
As I bop my favorite song.
Pain in my head.
Painful memories.
Painfulness exists,
Painlessly I achieve.
The only lesson learned,
Don’t bother what you seek.
When you look at me,
Pain you won’t see.
