Everyone knows the key to a father’s heart is his sweet princess. My daughter Trinity is my lifeline. You know how Genesis 2:21 in the bible describes creating Eve from Adam’s rib? I essentially wouldn’t be who I am without the birth of my daughter existing in this world.
Why I Love Fatherhood
Without a doubt, being a father is one of the most rewarding jobs I’ve ever been handed. Keeping my children safe and teaching them life skills is a thrill. I prepare my kids for most obstacles we all battle, such as looking both ways when crossing the road, never ride a bike without safety gear and more. I enjoy instilling the knowledge in my children’s ear, as those deposits are what they will always remember, especially when they are away from me.
Why I Love Being A Girl Dad
Having a daughter is not as bad as I initially thought. I know raising a woman in a man’s world is something I dreaded, but knowing I can teach her safety skills and how to handle herself is my passion. When we venture out in the world, her bubbly personality lights up those around her, which creates quite the conversation. Having a daughter who is athletic, witty, and beautiful like her dad is the perfect recipe for loving being a girl-dad.
My Daughter Leads By Example
My daughter is a kindergartener. She is ranked the highest reader in her entire kindergarten class, on top of excelling at basic math such as addition. This is attributed to pouring into my children whenever I saw fit the opportunity to teach. For teachers, most children enter a grade with little to no understanding of the material in which they are expected to have been exposed to. This is detrimental to the student as they may have a hard time catching up to their peers or where the teacher expects the student to be on a certain level.
Prior to entering kindergarten, I taught my daughter her ABCs, colors, identifying color words, how to spell, how to read, how to read her name, addition and so much more. i made it fun. I turned learning into a reward system and with time and repetition came success and smiles. I was told by my daughter’s teacher at parent teacher conference day that Trinity takes the time to help her peers learn material.
Her Teacher Says She Is A Leader
On a recent trip to my daughter’s school for parent teacher conference day, I was more than impressed with the comments of my daughter’s teacher. Her teacher said Trinity is a leader who always helps and immediately those words lit my face like a Christmas tree.
I’ve raised my daughter with morals and instilled in her leader qualities that I expect to be exhibited when I’m not around. Knowing my daughter is a leader is powerful–because she is the next generation of women growing up in this world.
More Athletic Than Anyone In Our Family
Despite my daughter’s epilepsy, she has a natural drive to compete and excels at anything she does. She is a hard-working gymnast, a skilled dancer, and excellent at soccer, baseball and basketball. She’s the jack of all trades! I look forward to the days when she can maturely tag along with her Dad as we exercise and get fit together. I love being her coach and cannot wait for those opportunities to arise.
A Pisces Princess
Born March 1, 2016, Trinity was destined for great things. As previously mentioned, her epilepsy has not stopped her from pursuing her dreams and living life. As long as I am around to ensure her medical success, I will dedicate my life to giving her the best life whether good or bad.
Trinity has such strong views on morality because ethical dilemmas are what I teach on a psychological level. Trinity is a motivated little lady and anyone who crosses her path will understand her generous heart. Don’t get it twisted, you have to get to me before you get to my daughter. I’m a very protective father who adores describing his Pisces Princess; however, her safety is my priority and I will defend her and her sibling(s) to the death. The sayings are true, “no one loves me like my Daddy.”
So Trinity, this is for you. Happy 6th Birthday! Daddy loves you!
