DoorDash is seemingly getting worse, failing to maintain the reputation it once had. With fewer promos for drivers, dashing is becoming an unattractive gig that strains the wallet making others rethink their strategy.
What are promos?

Promos or promotions incentivize the experience for dashers. When a specific area has a promo, each order is increased by $1-$3 for a limited time.
When I first started dashing in September 2021, promos occurred quite often. During peak hours, such as when Doordash is receiving a lot of orders or inclement weather when it rains or snows. Now that the app has suffered a slow down due to various reasons, drivers also suffer trying to earn a wage from the delivery platform.
While promos still appear on the app, they appear less frequently, occuring mostly in areas that are considered “rich” which is completely unfair to areas that surround me that are busy. Even when areas are busy or “very busy” promos aren’t active as they once were, making any attempt at profiting extremely complicated, leading to longer hours on the road and wasted gas waiting for legit orders.

To the CEO and President of Doordash, you need to listen to your drivers who do your dirty work. Low base pay, hidden or stolen tips, lack of compensation for long waits and a plethora of other relevant issues exhausts drivers. Working for DoorDash before was once fun. Now, I’m not so certain. While the CEO is a millionaire, drivers are going broke trying to pay bills since the depreciation on our vehicles is going to run us off the road before the no tip no trip orders do.
DoorDash pauses its drivers for not accepting multiple $2 orders

Dear Doordash…you suck. You shouldn’t pause our apps because YOU fail to pay us a wage that is worthy of completing. You should raise the base pay so customers who don’t tip don’t have to wait longer than they already have to. #RaiseDoordashBasePay
